Interior Architecture Versus Interior Decoration: What Is the Difference?
Interior architecture shapes the fixed, built elements of a home; decoration dresses the finished shell. Which one your project needs, and why the order matters.
Interior Architecture & Design · Grand Cayman
Nadine Donohoe Interiors creates refined residential interiors in the Cayman Islands, homes shaped by light, proportion and the way you actually live.
The Studio
A home should work before it impresses. Nadine Donohoe designs from the architecture outward, starting with the plan, the light and the built details, so that beauty is the result of rooms that genuinely function.
Trained in interior architecture in Beirut and Milan, and with more than 13 years of experience, much of it designing homes in the Cayman Islands, Nadine works across renovations, new builds and complete residential interiors. Her studio brings a European design education to Caribbean living: natural materials, quiet colour, and layouts that make everyday life feel effortless.
About NadineIn their words
Nadine did what no other designer or project manager has ever managed to do across all of my projects around the world. While my family and I were living in the UK, she completely transformed our 20+ year old home in South Sound into a modern, coastal retreat that we genuinely love living in. She always gave us options at different price points so we could be smart about where to save and where to splurge, and she kept everything moving, organised and proactive, even from overseas. We arrived back to a finished home, with everything ready for us to move straight in.
Nadine was an absolute dream to work with. She was always available, incredibly responsive and somehow managed to keep the entire project moving without ever making it feel stressful. She is calm, organised and totally on it from start to finish. We always felt in safe hands with her, which made all the difference.
I contacted Nadine to assist with the layout and the decorating of a new-build home midway through construction, and I was very pleased throughout. She was thorough and efficient, and always available, often on short notice, making my project a priority. Nadine has become a key asset, and I would not consider beginning another project without involving her from the start.
What the Studio Does
From complete interior design to focused help with layout, finishes, furniture or window treatments, the studio's work can be taken on as a whole or engaged one service at a time, always with the same care and eye for detail.
02
A complete interior design service for transforming an existing house or condominium, from the first assessment of the property through to the finished home.
04
Selling your home and want it to make the strongest possible first impression?

The Designer
Nadine studied Interior Architecture at ALBA, the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, and completed a master's degree at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. With more than 13 years of experience and an extensive body of work in the Cayman Islands, she designs interiors where architecture, materials and natural light are considered together, from the first sketch.
Her belief is simple: a beautiful room that doesn't work is only a photograph. Every project begins with how a family actually lives, then gives that life a calmer, more considered setting.
How It Works
Good design is a sequence, not a moment of inspiration. Every project moves through clear, collaborative stages, so you always know what has been decided, what comes next, and why.
01
Every project begins with a little information about you, your property and what you're hoping to achieve.
02
This is where we get to know you, your home and how you want to live within it, and the first consultation is complimentary.
03
Following the discovery stage, the studio prepares a tailored proposal outlining the recommended scope of work for your project.
04
This is where the vision for your home begins to take shape.
Rooms planned around morning light. Materials you want to touch. Storage exactly where life needs it. A home that feels effortless because every decision behind it was deliberate.
