This policy explains how Nadine Donohoe Interiors Ltd. collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit this website or send us a project inquiry. Please read it alongside our Cookie Policy.
Who we are
Nadine Donohoe Interiors Ltd. (“Nadine Donohoe Interiors”, “the studio”, “we”, “us”) is an interior architecture and design practice based in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. The studio is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy, and handles personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act (2021 Revision) of the Cayman Islands (the “DPA”).
You can contact us about anything in this policy at contact@nadinedonohoeinteriors.com.
What we collect
When you submit a project inquiry, we collect the information you choose to give us, which may include:
- your name and contact details, such as email address and telephone number;
- the location, type and current stage of your property or project;
- your indicative budget and preferred timescale;
- the services you are interested in and whether other professionals are appointed;
- anything else you choose to share, including a description of the project and any reference links, such as a Pinterest board.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as health information, financial account numbers or identity documents, and we ask that you do not include it in an inquiry.
Our hosting provider also records limited technical information in standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the website secure and available, and is not used to identify you.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
Under the DPA we must have a lawful basis for using personal data. Ours are:
- To review your inquiry and respond to you. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and is in our legitimate interests in operating the studio.
- To carry out and administer a project where an engagement is agreed. This is necessary for the performance of that contract.
- To keep records of correspondence and engagements, to meet our business, accounting and legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in managing the studio.
- To keep the website secure and functioning, which is in our legitimate interests.
- To send studio updates or marketing, only where you have given consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and our suppliers are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We share it only with service providers who help us run the studio and this website:
- our website hosting and content delivery provider;
- our transactional email provider, which delivers inquiry emails to the studio;
- our business email and file storage provider, where inquiries and correspondence are received and kept.
We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by law or regulation, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers
The studio is based in the Cayman Islands. The service providers described above process and store data on servers outside the Cayman Islands, principally in the United States and Europe. This means your personal data will be transferred outside the Cayman Islands.
Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive a level of protection comparable to that required by the DPA. This includes using established providers that offer contractual data-protection commitments, such as data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses, together with appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
How long we keep it
We keep project inquiries and related correspondence for 24 months from your last contact with us. Where an inquiry becomes an engagement, we keep project and financial records for 7 years after the engagement ends, in order to meet our business, accounting and legal obligations. After those periods, information is securely deleted or anonymised.
You may ask us to delete your information sooner, as described under “Your rights” below.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. These include encrypted connections across the website, encrypted transmission of inquiry emails, access controls and multi-factor authentication on the studio’s email and file storage, and limiting access to those who need it in order to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take these obligations seriously and review them regularly.
Your rights
Under the DPA you have the right to:
- be informed about how your personal data is used, which is the purpose of this policy;
- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected;
- ask us to delete your personal data, where there is no overriding reason for us to keep it;
- require us to stop or restrict processing your personal data, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- complain to the Ombudsman; and
- seek compensation for damage caused by a breach of the DPA.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@nadinedonohoeinteriors.com. We will respond within the timeframes set by the DPA. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so that we have the opportunity to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority for data protection in the Cayman Islands, the Office of the Ombudsman, whose contact details are published at ombudsman.ky.
Children
This website and the studio’s services are intended for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
