This service focuses on the plan and interior architecture of a home: where rooms, walls and openings belong; how people move through the space; how furniture will sit within it; and how the permanent architectural details come together.
- What it involves
A detailed review of the existing or proposed floor plan, testing alternative layouts, circulation and sight lines, furniture-scale planning, and the development of a resolved layout that architects and contractors can build from.
The service also considers the fixed architectural elements that give an interior its character: door and window openings, ceiling treatments, architraves and reveals, internal glazing, stair details, wall treatments, floor transitions, shadow gaps and the junctions where materials meet.

Homeowners who know their house doesn't flow as well as it should, buyers evaluating the potential of a property, and anyone beginning a renovation or new build who wants the plan properly questioned before it becomes fixed.

Rooms that are the wrong size for how they're used. Kitchens disconnected from family life. Wasted corridors. Awkward furniture arrangements. Homes that somehow feel smaller than their square footage.

- When to involve Nadine
As early as possible, ideally before construction drawings are finalized if it's a new build. If it's a renovation, ideally six to nine months before the work has to take place.
Moving a wall on paper costs a conversation. Moving it on site costs considerably more.
For projects involving an architect, Nadine can work alongside the architectural team during design development to ensure the interior and architecture are resolved together rather than separately.
